Week 12 won’t offer much in the way of drama for SEC quarterbacks.

Six teams play non-conference games, so it’s a good opportunity to take a pulse check on where things stand.

We start Week 12’s pressing QB questions with SEC’s best hope to win a national championship: Alabama.

Question: Jake Coker had another classic game-manager type performance. Do you have any concerns that he will be able to make enough plays when Alabama needs him, in the SEC Championship Game or likely the College Football Playoff?

Garcia: I think you have to be a little bit concerned. He has the ability, so you have to take that into consideration. I would like to see Alabama call a more aggressive pass offense, but there’s really no need to at this juncture in the season. Derrick Henry and the offensive line are completely dominating and the defense is playing lights out. With that being said, eventually the Tide will face a defense that will stack the line and force Coker to beat him with his arm. I do believe he can do that and I also think that Coach Kiffin isn’t too worried about it.

Question: Fair or no: Treon Harris’ numbers were better than his decision-making, performance Saturday? Are you feeling more/less confident in his ability to lead Florida to the SEC title?

Garcia: I think Harris played a pretty decent game, especially in the first half. His numbers are a little inflated because he had some roll out passes and the receivers made some damn good plays.

Obviously the Gators were a much different and better offense with Will Grier behind center, but they don’t have that luxury anymore and Harris needs to step up.

I don’t see anyone beating Alabama anyway, but if Harris can start to see the defense a little better, especially pre-snap, then I think the Gators can make it an interesting game.

Question: Dak Prescott threw for 300 yards against Alabama, his fourth consecutive 300-yard game. But he did not complete a pass in the red zone. How much blame does he deserve for the 31-6 loss?

Garcia: He also got sacked 9 times. I think Alabama noticed that Prescott doesn’t have the greatest pocket awareness and took full advantage of that.

He did make some very good throws down the field, but overall missed on some pretty routine throws. You start feeling that pressure once you get sacked a few times and you anticipate getting hit, which causes you to lose accuracy.

I think that may have been what happened with Prescott. I’ve been there before.

Any quarterback that has played has been there. You start looking at the rush rather than down field.

I don’t think it is fair to blame much on Prescott for the loss. He didn’t play terribly and they faced a team that is clicking on all cylinders right now.

Question: Have you seen enough to agree with Mark Stoops’ decision to start Drew Barker at Kentucky?

Garcia: At this point I have to say yes. Patrick Towles was one of my favorite quarterbacks coming into the season, but he looks completely lost back there and his confidence is as low as any QB in the SEC.

I have no clue what happened to him or what is going on behind closed doors, but at this point the Wildcats have no choice but to start Barker.

They are in desperate need of a spark and Barker will be forced to be baptized by fire. Sometimes that’s the best thing for a struggling offense, but sometimes it isn’t.

Either way, I would bet that Barker will be the QB1 from here on out in Lexington.

Question: Looking ahead to the College Football Playoff, which QB among the top 4-5 teams should scare Alabama the most?

Garcia: Clemson has Deshaun Watson, Ohio State has J.T. Barrett and Cardale  Jones, Oklahoma State has Mason Rudolph (a South Carolina kid, no less), and Notre Dame has a first-time starter in DeShone Kizer who has played lights out since being tossed in the starting role.

All five of those guys are elite college quarterbacks and should scare Alabama fans.

Jones and the Buckeyes already have beaten the Crimson Tide in last year’s playoff matchup and won’t be intimidated by them.

Clemson still has its rivalry game at South Carolina, then a surging UNC team in the ACC Championship, but but I expect them to be in the playoff. Watson is in the Heisman talk again and the Tigers offense has been rolling.

The problem for all of these guys, however, is they haven’t faced a defense like Alabama has right now.

They are much faster and smarter than last year’s team and have crushed some of the SEC’s better quarterbacks.

These contending QBs are a little more pass happy than the SEC offenses, but that could be big trouble when playing against Bama.

The Tide’s front seven has been on a tear, and sacks typically kill drives.

All of these guys have the ability to beat Alabama, but I don’t see the Crimson Tide losing another game this year. Not at the rate they are playing at right now, both offensively and defensively.
