The start of the NFL season is only a few short weeks away, and teams are in camp getting ready for Week 1.
There’s no preseason this year, so we won’t get to see the players in action until they line up for games that actually count.
Ahead of the start of the season, Pro Football Focus released its preseason 2021 NFL Mock Draft. As you can see below, the site had 9 SEC stars going in Round 1, led by 6 Alabama standouts:
- No. 6 — Ja’Marr Chase, WR, LSU — New York Jets
- No. 8 — Christian Barmore, DL, Alabama — Las Vegas Raiders
- No. 9 — Dylan Moses, LB, Alabama — Miami Dolphins
- No. 10 — Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama — Detroit Lions
- No. 15 — Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida — Arizona Cardinals
- No. 17 — DeVonta Smith, WR, Alabama — Tennessee Titans
- No. 19 — Trey Smith, OL, Tennessee — Pittsburgh Steelers
- No. 26 — Alex Leatherwood, OL, Alabama — New York Jets
- No. 27 — Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama — Dallas Cowboys
These projections are sure to change as we make our way through the college and NFL seasons, but the 9 players mentioned above will definitely be worth keeping an eye on in 2020.
