With the 2017 NFL Draft right around the corner, the draft-eligible players are working ardently in preparation to demonstrate their respective talents for franchises.

The SEC should be well represented (as it usually is) within this current crop. The likes of Myles Garrett, Reuben Foster, Jonathan Allen, Jamal Adams, Leonard Fournette all figure to be drafted very early on Apr. 27.

NFL.com analysts Bucky Brooks and Daniel Jeremiah recently discussed a number of prospects, and even went as far as comparing the incoming talent to some of the current NFL players.

Jeremiah did compare Clemson QB Deshaun Watson to current Miami Dolphins (and former Texas A&M) signal-caller Ryan Tannehill.

When looking at three Pro Bowlers (Denver Broncos DB Chris Harris, Kansas City DB Eric Berry, Kansas City RB Jamaal Charles), multiple SEC players popped up.

Brooks feels as if Tennessee running back Alvin Kamara compares favorably to Charles. Kamara was excellent at catching passes out of the backfield, and has explosive stop-and-star ability.

Jeremiah sees LSU DB Tre’Davious White as a similar player to Harris. Much like Harris, White is a feisty player with very good athleticism and ball skills.

Additionally, Jeremiah views Adams as an accurate comparison to former UT safety Berry. Adams is one of the best defenders in this draft, and will likely be off the board within the first 10 picks.

One last comparison agreed upon by both Brooks and Jeremiah is Alabama TE O.J. Howard and Carolina Panthers’ TE Greg Olsen. While Howard didn’t put up gaudy numbers in Tuscaloosa, he’s an excellent blocker and does possess the requisite pass-catching skills to be a big-play threat — particularly on routes exploiting the seams of the field.
