Ewers is expected to make his return to Texas’ starting lineup this week after missing the last few games with an abdominal injury. Arch Manning has filled in admirably during Ewers’ absence, but the veteran is reportedly on track to face off against the Sooners on Saturday in the Cotton Bowl.

Ewers will be making his third start against Oklahoma in his career. He beat the Sooners in 2022, but Oklahoma won in upset fashion last season as Ewers threw a pair of interceptions.

For Hawkins, this will be just his second-ever start at the collegiate level. Hawkins took over as Oklahoma’s starting quarterback in Week 5 against Auburn and performed well. He threw for 161 yards on 15 attempts and also had a long rushing touchdown early in the game.

This will be the first-ever meeting between Texas and Oklahoma as SEC members. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
