ESPN has experienced a couple of rounds of layoffs in recent years, and according to reports, another massive round could be hitting soon.

Per Front Office Sports, the Worldwide Leader will potentially try cut tens of millions of dollars from its budget.

The report states that as many as 700 employees, many of whom work in behind-the-camera roles, could be laid off in the coming weeks:

ESPN could lay off hundreds of employees in the coming weeks, sources told Front Office Sports.

One source pegged the potential number of job losses between 300 and 700 employees. Another estimated 400 possible lost jobs.

Some on-air talent could also be impacted, but for now, it seems to mostly be behind-the-scenes workers in jeopardy.

The network’s highest-earning employees and executives could also be asked to take pay cuts.
