Report: Appalachian State hires new head coach to replace Eli Drinkwitz
The Appalachian State Mountaineers have been busy on the coaching market the past 2 seasons. First, they lost coach Scott Satterfield to Louisville, hiring Eliah Drinkwitz to replace him.
Then, earlier this week, Drinkwitz was announced as Mizzou’s new coach, forcing Appalachian State back into the coaching market.
On Wednesday, according to Bruce Feldman, the Mountaineers decided to permanently promote interim coach Shawn Clark to the head coach role:

Clark graduated from Appalachian State in 1998, so the job likely means a lot more to him than it has meant to others.
He served as the assistant head coach and offensive line coach this past season.
