Reports have been flying around all day Monday. First, it seemed the Big Ten was for sure canceling football this fall. Then, that wasn’t the case (at least as of now).
The SEC has reportedly held firm in its desire to play this fall, though. Now, it just could be a matter of who joins the SEC on the gridiron.
According to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, a college administrator said the SEC would like 2 more Power 5 conferences and 1 Group of 5 league to play as well:
Text from a college administrator: "SEC wants at least 2 P-5 and 1 G-5 conference to play this season." ACC and Big 12?

As Rittenberg mentions, the ACC and Big 12 could be the Power 5 leagues most likely to join the SEC. As for Group of 5 conferences, only the MAC has for sure canceled the fall season.
That leaves the Sun Belt, AAC, Mountain West and Conference USA as options to fulfill this reported SEC desire.
