Report: Former Arkansas, Mizzou head coach emerges for St. John’s job

Recently fired Arkansas coach Mike Anderson may be in line for a new head coaching gig.
According to CBS Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein, Anderson has emerged as a “strong favorite” to land the St. John’s job.
Anderson was dismissed from Arkansas on March 26, 2019, and he finished in Fayetteville with an overall record of 169-102. He’s made nine NCAA Tournament appearances with UAB, Missouri and Arkansas.
Anderson grew up in Alabama, and he’s coached mostly in the South. It would be an interesting hire for St. John’s, which is located in New York, because Anderson doesn’t have many — if any — ties to the area.
