Report: Greg Sankey says SEC will 'continue the dialogue' on alcohol sales in stadiums
Recently, there has been momentum building for alcohol to be sold in SEC stadiums, as many other schools have brought in major profits that way.
However, the SEC has yet to get on board with alcohol in stadiums, and it doesn’t appear that will be the case this fall, either.
According to Terrin Waack of the Tuscaloosa News, commissioner Greg Sankey said the SEC will “continue the dialogue” on alcohol sales, but the rules remain in place for now:
SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said the conference is going to “continue the dialogue” on whether or not alcohol is going to be sold in stadiums. Right now, the rules still stand as they have been in the past.

Obviously, money talks, so as non-SEC schools continue to rake in cash from beer sales, it’s likely the SEC will eventually give in and allow in-stadium alcohol sales.
For now, though, tailgating will be the primary form of alcohol consumption on Saturdays in the south.
