Report: NBA officially sets date for 2020 NBA Draft and early entry deadline
The NBA is still eyeing a restart of the 2019-20 season for next month in Orlando. That season needs to be completed before the 2020 NBA Draft can be held.
There have been rumors and reports of when the draft will take place after being postponed from its usual date this month, and now it seems things are being finalized.
Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the draft will take place on Friday, Oct. 16, and the league has set an early entry deadline for Aug. 17:

Then, players will have until Oct. 6 to decide whether or not to withdraw:

That gives current college players who haven’t yet reached a decision on whether to stay in the draft class or return to school a couple more months to figure things out.
The draft is sure to feature a handful of SEC guys going in Round 1. We’ll see how things play out on Oct. 16, apparently.
