Reports: NFL rescheduling multiple games
It appears 2 games scheduled for Sunday afternoon will be moved to weekday slots due to the effects of the coronavirus.
According to Mike Klis of KUSA-TV in Denver, the game between the Broncos and Patriots originally set to kick off at 4:25 pm ET on Sunday will be rescheduled to Monday night. KCNC-TV’s Romi Bean reported that kickoff will be 7:05 pm ET at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.
This past weekend, the Chiefs and Patriots game set for 4:25 pm ET in Kansas City was moved to Monday night after quarterback Cam Newton tested positive for the coronavirus. On Wednesday, another positive case among the Patriots was announced, this one belonging to star cornerback and former South Carolina great Stephon Gilmore.
Meanwhile, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Thursday that the game between the Bills and Titans, a 1 pm ET kickoff at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, will be rescheduled for 6pm ET on Tuesday. To prevent Buffalo from playing twice in 3 days, next Thursday night’s regularly-scheduled game between the Bills and Chiefs in Orchard Park, N.Y. will now be played on Sunday, Oct. 18.
The rescheduled Bills-Titans game, according to Schefter, is contingent on no further positive tests among Tennessee players and staff. As of Thursday, 23 members of the organization have been infected since the first was announced on Sept. 24. This past Sunday’s game against the Steelers and Titans was postponed as a result.
