Ricky Town is the talk of the town in Fayetteville.

It was reported last night that the former elite quarterback prospect was on campus and would be attending the Hogs’ practice.

Town elected to transfer from Southern Cal prior to the start of his freshman season, and it has everyone questioning his willingness to compete.

ESPN National Recruiting Director Tom Luginbill, a former quarterback himself, hopped on Bo Mattingly’s Arkansas radio show to discuss Town and his potential transfer to Arkansas.

There’s no denying that Town has talent — it’s obvious if you watch his highlight film, but the intangibles have been called into question. And they’re fair game, after leaving Southern Cal following some lackluster practices, as reported by the Los Angeles Daily News.

Ultimately, it comes down to the coaching staff and their gut feeling on Town and his willingness to compete. Bret Bielema and offensive coordinator Dan Enos will make the best decision for their program, but Town would be a nice fit in the Hogs’ pro-style attack.

Town reportedly also has interest in the Florida Gators, but it’s unknown whether UF is pursuing him.
