This offseason, there’s been a lot of focus on South Carolina and Texas A&M, especially after the Aggies hired Jimbo Fisher as their new coach.

Meanwhile, the Gamecocks have positioned themselves as perhaps Georgia’s biggest challenger for the SEC East crown this fall, with coach Will Muschamp returning a talented squad.

That buzz is paying off on the recruiting trails, too, as the Gamecocks and Aggies are both currently putting together top-5 2019 recruiting classes, according to 247Sports. As you can see below, A&M currently has the No. 2 class, just below SEC West foe Alabama, while South Carolina is one spot ahead of heated rival Clemson:

Saturday was a big day for the Aggies, as they brought in 5-star OT Kenyon Green — the No. 1 player in the state of Texas. Meanwhile, the Gamecocks landed the top player in South Carolina — 5-star DE Zacch Pickens — last month and picked up 4-star DE Joseph Anderson on Friday.

Of course, it’s still early, but both schools are putting together incredible classes. There’s momentum building in College Station and Columbia, and it could translate to the field in a big way this fall.
