SEC leads way with 51 commits in Rivals250
Led by top quarterback prospects Shea Patterson (Mississippi commit) and Jacob Eason (Georgia commit), the SEC far outdistances its Power 5 conference rivals when it comes to recruits in the Rivals250.
The SEC has commits from over 20 percent of the Rivals 250. Fifty-one prospects have committed to SEC programs, compared with 37 in the Big Ten, 35 in the Pac 12, 28 in the ACC and 14 in the Big XII. Notre Dame has three commits in the Rivals250 and the American Athletic Conference has three.
The haul for the Class of 2016 is far from over as several top targets are leaning toward SEC schools and could bump the number of commits to the conference to over 70 prospects before signing day.
Among the top targets are:
Isaac Nauta, TE, 5-stars: Georgia and Michigan appear to be leading for his services.
Ben Davis, DB, 5-stars: Has Georgia, Alabama, LSU and Auburn in his top five with Notre Dame.
Nate Craig-Myers, WR, 5-stars: Auburn and Florida are battling with Florida State, North Carolina and others.
Mecole Hardman Jr., ATH, 5-stars: Georgia and Alabama appear to be out front ahead of Tennessee, Florida and TC
Gregory Little, OL, 5-stars: Little, out of Allen, Texas, has Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU and Ole Miss in his top five.
