There is a team from the Southeastern Conference and another one from the Atlantic Coast Conference that are distancing themselves from the rest of the pack.

These two teams would make for great television ratings should they make the College Football Playoff and face off against one another. Alabama vs. Clemson, how’s that sound?

The SEC has long said it is better than the ACC, but that wouldn’t be the headline if these two  teams get together. The best storyline of that possible game would be much more personal. That’s because Clemson coach Dabo Swinney played wide receiver at Alabama.

Before we can possibly get to that scenario, there is still a lot of football to play. Here is a ranking of the SEC teams vs. the ACC according to the SDS power rankings:


Here are the teams with a real shot at not only making the playoffs, but have a chance to win it all.
