The SEC has announced its Players of the Week after the action from the Week 7 slate.
Florida quarterback Graham Mertz is the Offensive Player of the Week. The Defensive Player of the Week is Missouri defensive end Darius Robinson.
Co-Special Teams Player of the Week was awarded to Florida kicker Trey Smack and Tennessee’s Dee Williams. Alabama’s JC Latham is the Offensive Lineman of the Week. Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week went to Tennessee’s James Pearce and Arkansas’ Landon Jackson.
Georgia kicker Peyton Woodring earned Freshman of the Week.
Mertz finished with a career-high 423 passing yards as well as a season-high 3 passing touchdowns in Florida’s 41-39 victory against South Carolina. Mertz rallied Florida for the game-deciding 75-yard drive with 2:43 to go after trailing by double digits.
Robinson anchored Missouri with 6 tackles including 2 sacks in the 38-21 victory at Kentucky.
Smack converted 4 of his 5 field goals, including a career-high 54-yarder in the 3rd quarter. Williams scored on a 39-yard punt return, the 2nd of his career.
Latham was a pillar for an Alabama offensive line which helped the Crimson Tide gain 217 rushing yards in the 24-21 win against Arkansas.
Pearce racked up 3 tackles, 2 tackles for losses, a sack, and 5 QB hurries. Jackson finished with a career-high 11 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
Woodring converted field goals of 30, 31, and a career-best 44 yards in Georgia’s 37-20 win vs. Vanderbilt.
