With another weekend of college football in the books, the SEC league office has officially named its Week 4 SEC Players of the Week:
Offensive Player of the Week – Damien Harris, RB, Alabama
- Harris, a junior, ran for a career-high 151 yards on 12 carries. It was the fourth 100-yard game of Harris’ career.
- Averaged 12.6 YPC with a career-high three touchdowns.
- Seven of Harris’ carries went for a first down or touchdown.
- Led Alabama’s rushing attack that ran for 496 yards against Vanderbilt.
Defensive Player of the Week – Cece Jefferson, DL, Florida
- Recorded five tackles with a career-high and team-best 1.5 sacks in Florida’s comeback win over Kentucky.
- One of Jefferson’s sacks came on third down in the second quarter. It forced the Wildcats to attempt a 48-yard field goal that was missed.
Special Teams Player of the Week – Christian Kirk, WR/KR, Texas A&M
- Returned three kickoffs for a total of 136 yards.
- Returned one kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown, the first kickoff return touchdown of his career.
- Now has six total return touchdowns (1 kickoff, 5 punt) which is the most in A&M history.
- Also had five receptions for 100 yards and 2 TDs while on offense. Kirk caught the game-winning touchdown for the Aggies in overtime.
Freshman of the Week – Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia
- Completed 9 of 12 passes for a career-high 201 yards, 2 TDs, and no interceptions.
- Threw a 59-yard touchdown pass on Georgia’s opening play of offense off an incredible flea flicker.
- It was Fromm’s second victory over a top 20 team this season.
Offensive Lineman of the Week – Ross Pierschbacher, OL, Alabama
- Led Alabama’s offensive line that compiled 677 yards of total offense and 59 points against Vanderbilt’s top-ranked defense.
- Alabama rushed for 496 yards, the sixth highest single-game mark in school history.
- Was graded at 90% for the game and was not penalized.
- The offensive line allowed just two negative plays and averaged 7.3 yards a play.
Defensive Lineman of the Week – Marlon Davidson, DL, Auburn
- Recorded four tackles, one TFL, and returned a fumble recovery 33 yards.
- Auburn scored a touchdown following Davidson’s fumble recovery to go up 28-0 over Missouri.
- Davidson’s 28 production points were the second highest mark for Auburn’s defense Saturday.
