SEC Championship delivers monster TV ratings, nearly double Big Ten
CBS Sports’ final SEC Championship was the most watched in the last 5 years on any network.
Alabama and Georgia battled for the last time on CBS Sports before its new media rights deal with the Big Ten kicks in next season. Alabama won 27-24 and made it to the College Football Playoff.
The SEC Championship almost doubled the number of viewers that the Big Ten Championship had. An average of 17.52 million people watched the SEC title game compared to Michigan-Iowa, which had 10.02 million, according to Sports Media Watch.

The average viewers went up 61% from last year’s game with LSU and Georgia.
Saturday’s game peaked with 22.35 million viewers. It was also the most streamed game ever on Paramount+ across households, minutes, and average minute audience.
