For the SEC, the 2020 NFL Draft is one for the record books.

On Thursday, 15 players from six SEC programs (Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU and South Carolina) were selected in the first round, breaking the previous record of 12, which the SEC shared with the ACC.

The draft resumed on Friday night. At roughly the halfway point, pick No. 50 overall, ESPN shared that the SEC had claimed another record: most picks in the top 20.

With five more selections in Round 2 (with Tennessee joining the fun as Darrell Taylor was selected), the SEC’s number through 50 picks was 20. Once again, the SEC is breaking its own record of 18 picks in the top 50.

These records are for the common draft era, which is considered 1967-present.
