The SEC made up half of the 8-team field when the College World Series began Saturday. Two teams are gone, but the 4 SEC teams are alive. With 6 teams remaining, one SEC team is guaranteed to make the CWS finals.

In Omaha, teams are part of either Bracket 1 or Bracket 2. The winners of those bracket halves then meet in the best-of-3 College World Series finals. The 3 remaining teams in Bracket 2 are all from the SEC. One of Auburn, Arkansas or Ole Miss is guaranteed to be playing for a national championship.

No. 14 seed Auburn stayed alive by defeating No. 2 seed Stanford 6-2 Monday. Arkansas and Ole Miss both started 1-0 and are currently in the middle of a winner’s bracket game. The loser will play Auburn on Tuesday in an elimination game.

No. 5 seed Texas A&M is the only SEC team in Bracket 2. The Aggies defeated Texas 10-2 to avoid elimination. They will play Notre Dame in another elimination game Tuesday.
