The award for the most versatile player in college football is out with its Watch List, and the SEC has 5 players in the mix.

Overall, there are 53 players representing all 10 conferences plus 2 of the independents have been selected for the Paul Hornung Award Pre-Season Watch List.

Now in its 14th season, the Paul Hornung Award is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission in memory of the late football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung. The winner and his family will be honored at the annual Paul Hornung Award dinner in Louisville, Ky., in March 2024.

The Louisville Sports Commission launched the Paul Hornung Award in 2010 to honor its namesake and native son, and to promote outstanding performances by versatile college football players who often go unnoticed. Last year, Jack Colletto of Oregon State took home the award, and in recent years, SEC stars DeVonta Smith of Alabama (2020) and Lynn Bowden of Kentucky (2019) also received the award.

Here are the SEC selections:

Brian Battie, Auburn
Barion Brown, Kentucky
Trevor Etienne, Florida
Lideatrick Griffin, Mississippi State
Jayden McGowan, Vanderbilt
