The SEC was well-represented on the Sporting News Midseason All-American team with 8 players on the team, including 2 each from Alabama and Georgia.

The usual suspects are there, including 2 of the best linebackers in the country, in Will Anderson at Alabama, and Nakobe Dean at Georgia. Georgia’s Jordan Davis gets the nod here after he’s been overlooked on some similar lists. A pair of representatives from 2 great offensive lines, Texas A&M and Kentucky, are on the team, including Kenyon Green and Darian Kinnard. Alabama’s Evan Neal also makes the offensive line.

The rest of the defense includes Jaylan Foster at South Carolina and DeMarvin Leal at Texas A&M.

For some perspective, Sporting News is one of 5 outlets used to determine consensus All-American status.
