SEC legacy recruit Arch Manning’s team to be featured in nationally televised game Thursday
As SEC fans wait for another week of action, they will be served a bit of an appetizer Thursday night by an SEC legacy who may well end up quarterbacking at an SEC school in three years.
Arch Manning, the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning, and the No. 1 QB in the class of 2023 will in a televised matchup when his team, Isidore Newman, plays KIPP Booker T. Washington on Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
Manning currently holds nine offers, including Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss and Tennessee. He’s 6-foot-3, 195 pounds, and through the first two games of the season, Manning has completed 27 of 37 passes for 463 yards and six touchdowns, with only one interception.
Manning isn’t the only highly-ranked recruit on his team. WR A.J. Johnson is a 4-star receiver and the No. 28 wide receiver in the Class of 2022.
Manning’s coach said to pump the breaks on any family comparisons.
“Arch is his own entity,” Isidore Newman football coach Nelson Stewart said, per ESPN. “That’s one thing we tell him is, you be yourself. What a great resource he has with his uncles, grandfather and dad that can work with him and help, but as a sophomore, I would hope no one would put that label on him because there’s so much growth still to happen. We let Arch be Arch, let him be a sophomore.”
Heard him talking about how nice Knoxville is….
Ha well there is a looooong time between now and his commitment anywhere. Wish he could get what his dad wants for him but im afraid he better get used to the spotlight. he will be living in it from now on. Kid has been around it a lot though so maybe he just has his own way of dealing that works well for him.
pump the brakes and give the kid some room, but national TV, that’s a good idea. Jeez
It is a classic way to sell a player, “come watch but shhhhhh let him be himself”.. Rolling eyes.lol
Watched the highlights of his 6 touchdown game a couple of weeks ago. If this kid goes legacy and attends Ole Miss and Lane Kiffen still has the job….thats going to be fun to watch.
