The SEC for years has led the country in NFL Draft picks. Some have garnered the nation’s attention for various reasons, while others more quietly made their way into the league. Here are some of the more intriguing names in the upcoming 2016 NFL Draft, April 28-30.

Dak Prescott: The Mississippi State quarterback broke 38 school records and brought the program to new heights under his guidance. The question is whether his style translates to the pro level. Somewhat undersized at 6-2, 226, Prescott is not being touted as a first-round pick but his leadership qualities can strengthen any NFL team. Can he be the next Russell Wilson?

Robert Nkemdiche: His talent level is unquestionable. Physically, there are few if any better in the draft at his defensive tackle position. He is an elite athlete, athletically speaking. However, his lack of production, coupled with character concerns, have many questioning his draft status. Will the concerns send him tumbling outside the first round?

Derrick Henry: One of the biggest running backs in the game at 6–3, 247 pounds, this bruiser has proven to be as durable as it gets at his position. It will be interesting to see how NFL teams view him apart from Alabama’s incredible offensive line. Not considered a creator, his physical strength and ability are very hard to stop once started. The NFL team that most values those qualities, will take him later this month. Who will it be?

D’haquille “Duke” Williams: The potential to be a big-play receiver at Auburn, his college career didn’t go quite as planned. Injuries and off-field incidents kept him in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. But the NFL is a little different animal. With teams looking for talent first, Williams could hear his name called. Or then again, maybe not.

Laremy Tunsil: Injuries and off-field incidents tarnished an otherwise illustrious career. He has been impressing scouts with his run blocking and ability to keep the opposition out of his team’s backfield. Before teams began trading up to land quarterbacks, Tunsil was in the mix to go No. 1. The five-star prospect has the physical tools to be a star in the NFL. How high will he go?

Vernon Hargreaves: As competitive a player as you’ll find. An undersized overachiever at 5-10, 204, it will be interesting to see how high in the draft this “underdog” can go. He sure made Florida a better team for having him and the potential first-rounder looks to do the same for some lucky NFL team as well. Most mock drafts have him going to his hometown Tampa Bay Buccaneers at No. 9.

Laquon Treadwell: After suffering the gruesome injury and making a full recovery with tremendous hard work and determination, it’s hard not to pull for that type of an athlete. He’s not the fastest receiver, but he’s physical and catches balls in traffic, two traits necessary in the NFL. How high in the draft he goes is anyone’s guess, but watching in anticipation of hearing his name called is what will draw the attention of SEC fans and those nationwide who appreciate what he’s gone through to get there.
