SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic names his top 5 SEC RBs for the 2019 season
As the 2019 season approaches, SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic has been taking to Twitter to rank some of the SEC’s position groups.
On Wednesday, he ranked his top five SEC running backs for the 2019 season, and they’re sure to spark plenty of discussion.
As you can see below, he has D’Andre Swift, Ke’Shawn Vaughn, Larry Rountree III, Lamical Perine and Scottie Phillips as his top runners for this fall:
MY top 5 SEC RB’s for 2019:
1) D’Andre Swift – Georgia
2) Ke’Shawn Vaughn – Vanderbilt
3) Larry Rountree – Missouri
4) Lamical Perine – Florida
5) Scottie Phillips – Ole Miss— Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) July 11, 2019
Noticeably absent from that list is Alabama RB Najee Harris. You’d better believe the replies are full of Alabama fans calling out Cubelic for leaving Harris off the list:

Misspelled Najee Harris

How about Najee Harris

Another notable name left off the list is Mississippi State’s Kylin Hill. However, everyone who made the cut is a great back, so it’s tough to say how Cubelic should have ranked them differently.
I don’t see Perine or Phillips being in the top 5 once the season is over.
Perine is a solid SEC RB but I don’t think he’s top 5
Well I agree with any bama fan who questions Najee not being on the list. I can’t imagine he won’t be top 3 by seasons end.
It doesn’t really matter. It’s his list and I’m sure others have their own opinions on it… At the end of the day this stuff don’t matter at this point. Fun to talk about though.
Interesting that of his top five, four hail from the SEC east.
Now that Scarlet is gone and Perrine is the main man he is going to show all doubters why he belongs in the top 5
Just wait and see
Perine is a stud and imho no doubt a top 5 SEC running back but I think GatorbaitorU’s unknown of a cohesive o-line may impact his greatness. I’d have to go with Najee slightly ahead.
Najee should be top 3. I dont understand the hype for Hill though. He only does well against non P5 and big 12 defenses.
