SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic tweets takeaways from SEC's Week 5 action
SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic gives a weekly roundup of his thoughts on the latest action across the SEC.
This week, he weighed in on Jaylen Waddle’s injury in Alabama’s win at Tennessee, Missouri’s key players in the win over Kentucky and LSU’s win over South Carolina.
With a limited schedule of just four games, there were several teams that were off that Cubelic didn’t address.
Here’s a rundown of his takeaways:
We do it each week, my Sunday SEC takeaways…
ALABAMA:
Hated to see Waddle go down. Brutal loss. OL much more physical. 73 had really nice game. 22 continues to run like a mad man. Thought 47 flashed a little on defense. Def still not fitting the run well. Need pass rush wins— Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) October 25, 2020
KENTUCKY:
Cover 1 was an issue for the offense. Strange game management. Understand the focus concerns. Need to at least have more threat of passing attack. DL beat up & it showed. 3rd downs & rushing numbers are just outside of this teams personality. Big chance to bounce back.— Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) October 25, 2020
MISSOURI:
Liked how Bazelak handled things. Kind of felt like he knew what kind of game he was getting. Roundtree exceptional. Bolton is best LB in the league. Huge day for the front 7 to slow that rushing game. Dominated TOP & had balance offensively. Drink exceeding early on.— Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) October 25, 2020
SOUTH CAROLINA:
Thought the movement with the DL caught up a few times. Needed more wins from that DL. Lot self inflicted issues. Can’t give up ST & defensive scores vs that team on the road. Harris was a highlight. Some rough breakdowns in protection. Needed more Smith on off.— Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) October 25, 2020
