The SEC slate of games was absolutely wild on Saturday, with upsets, blown calls, huge offensive numbers and more.
Thus, making sense of everything that happened isn’t an easy job. But, that’s what SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic did on Sunday morning.
Every week, Cubelic tweets his takeaways for each team. This week, he had plenty to weigh in on. Here are Cubelic’s Week 3 takeaways for all 14 SEC squads:
ARKANSAS: Brutal way to drop one. Franks has been great last two games ( 0 INT ). The effort is just so different up front on both sides. 73 banged up didn’t help. Very thin up front on D. Needed more vs. Time to be a believer in the play callers…especially on offense.

FLORIDA: Trask & pass game are elite. Running on her feud. Still need balance. Had lead late 3rd & late 4th. Run game would’ve been nice there. Missed guys & missed tackles on defense can’t continue. They fly around. Just not always to the right spot & not wrapping up on arrival.

KENTUCKY: Needed a W in a major way. Big time defensive performance. Ability to rush passer with 3 & impact things was huge. 4 played lights out all over the place, need him healthy! Cleaned things up, got 6 takeaways & had just 3 flags. Terry will needs a more thru the air.

MISSISSIPPI STATE: Have to be concerned about seeing same looks & struggling they way they have the past 2 weeks. Costello got benched?! Guys taking themselves out of the game, fights, poor effort. Just ugly. OL can’t allow pressure vs 3 rushers, incomprehensible. Still have time

OLE MISS: OL got a consistent push vs BAMA. Read that again. Didn’t believe it at first. That group is fighting. Just an amazing plan by Lane. Visual deception, options, answers & playmakers. Defense outmanned. Couldn’t hold up on LOS. But damn you have to be excited in Oxford.

TENNESSEE: Couldn’t get run game going & has to have that to ease things on QB. Caught some breaks early & couldn’t ride momentum. Far too many flags. Needed clean game. Turnovers on 1st 2 drives after half too much. Losing Deandre Johnson early was killer. Needed that pass rush.

VANDERBILT: Short handed one every sense. Secondary numbers way down. Only 56 scholarship players available?!? Tough times. Can’t live with 1 of 14 on 3rd & 4th down. Got Brooks back at least. Seals will continue to grow.

Next Saturday, we have another interesting slate of games, with Georgia and Alabama squaring off in potentially the game of the year in the SEC.
What will we be saying about each team this time next week? Tune in next Sunday for more of Cubelic’s takeaways!
