There were plenty of interesting results last week across the SEC, but none apparently as dramatic as Jordan Rodgers’ SEC quarterback power rankings. And it didn’t necessarily have to do with whether the quarterback’s team won or lost.

The SEC Network analyst, in his latest rankings, vaulted Mississippi State’s Nick Fitzgerald up five spots from No. 8, the largest move along with Vanderbilt’s Kyle Shurmur, up five spots from No. 10.

Fitzgerald was 14-for-21 for 243 yards passing with two touchdowns in a 56-10 win over Louisiana. Shurmur, meanwhile, was 26-for-43 for 326 yards, a TD and an interception in a 22-17 loss at Notre Dame.

Rodgers’ top two signal callers, Tua Tagovailoa of Alabama and Missouri’s Drew Lock, switched places following their performances against Ole Miss and Purdue.

Without even playing, South Carolina’s Jake Bentley fell three spots.

But from the high degree of difficulty department, Rodgers plummeted Ole Miss QB Jordan Ta’amu, who faced the tough Alabama defense, and went a woeful 7-for-22 for 133 yards, one TD and two interceptions. Rodgers evidently didn’t put much stock in Ta’amu’s early 75-yard touchdown pass to put the Rebels up 7-0 in the eventual 62-7 loss.
