SEC Network analyst predicts 2 SEC teams will go undefeated in 2024
New SEC Network analyst Randall Cobb made a bold prediction about the SEC’s 2024 campaign on Wednesday night.
Cobb, a former NFL receiver who joined the network this offseason, is predicting that 2 SEC programs will go undefeated this fall. That by itself may not be a bold prediction, but Cobb’s specific teams may surprise some fans.
“There’s gonna be 2 undefeated teams this year in the SEC, and Georgia’s not going to be one of them,” Cobb said while wincing. “It’s a bold prediction, OK?
“I think it’s going to be Mizzou and Ole Miss. I like the way that their schedules line up and Ole Miss plays Georgia in Oxford. I think they’ve got an opportunity to knock them off. We’ll see.”

The SEC Network’s Alyssa Lang also shared her bold prediction in the video above: Florida will win 7 games in 2024.
Both Ole Miss and Missouri have legitimate College Football Playoff aspirations this season after winning double-digit games a year ago. However, it would be a big surprise to see either run the table in 2024.
ESPN’s Football Power Index gives the Rebels just a 0.4% chance to go undefeated. Missouri’s odds of a perfect regular season are a little higher at 1.4%, per ESPN’s model. For context, FPI gives Georgia the best odds of any SEC program to go undefeated at 11.5%.
The NFL and players association should really do more to help former players suffering with CTE.
I guess living in reality is not a requirement to be a CFB analyst.
I like it! MIZ!
Nah, ain’t seeing it.
Occasionally a blind squirrel will find a nut.
I’m not sure my tigers are at that level yet.
Don’t do drugs kids!
Yeah, not gonna happen. Enough said.
Undefeated? Highly unlikely. 11-1? Possibly.
I could even see a world where OleMiss upsets UGA but drops one somewhere else, like in Baton Rouge.
10-2 is most likely, but the wins and losses don’t always go to chalk.
Mizzou is going to lose at least 3, maybe more. Can’t lose the DC and expect to just be fine. Theye lucked out of losing 4 maybe more last year.
Also, what is that schedule? Boston College, UMASS, Murray State, and Buffalo? Pathetic.
Not seeing it. Maybe 2. I’m going to the A&M game looking forward to it; just wish it was a night game; not looking forward to central Texas at 11am
Randall needs to get his meds adjusted. And so does Alyssa. UGA going wire to wire, beating the Ducks for the Natty and the Gators’ ceiling is 5-7.
Mizzou’s schedule is absolutely pathetic! If they want to be among the top SEC teams they need to do much better. If there are multiple 6-2 SEC teams and they are among them, Mizzou should be ranked below them all based on this garbage schedule. Smh
Anything is possible.
Any SEC team could lose 2 games.
My guess is no SEC teams will go undefeated.
So there :(
Missou with no Defense, hell no…
No defense? You been buying what Connor has been selling. Our defense will be just fine.
ESPN FPI is hot garbage, especially preseason. I can’t be certain how my Rebels will end the season, but they’re better than that #16 ranking to start the season.
I think the boldest part of that is predicting any team to go undefeated in the sec this season. Ole miss and mizzou sitting at the top of the conference is not a bold prediction at all and likely a lot closer than SDs having them at 6&7 behind Texas, lsu, Tenn, and aTm. That prediction just seems stupid
I’m a die hard Missouri fan, and even I know he’s on crack. There’s a tough stretch of like 4 games that they very well could go O-fer.
Missouri has a really light schedule this year, but it has two games against opponents with much better rosters, Alabama and Oklahoma. And they’re at College Station in October. Looks like 9-3 to 10-2 to me.
Ole Miss has a really experienced roster this year, with difference makers at key positions. they too have a favorable schedule. However, they still don’t have a lot of rotational depth, which makes their game against Georgia a challenge. And they go to the Swamp a week after playing Georgia. 10-2 to 11-1 looks possible, but they aren’t deep enough to go undefeated.
