The SEC returns some talented running backs in 2019. Among them are Georgia’s D’Andre Swift, Alabama’s Najee Harris, Florida’s LaMical Perine, Mizzou’s Larry Rountree III, Vanderbilt’s Ke’Shawn Vaughn, Ole Miss’s Scottie Phillips and others.

But, only one of them can be the SEC’s leading rusher this fall, so who will it be?

On Thursday at SEC Media Days, SEC Network analysts Greg McElroy, Marcus Spears and Gene Chizik made their picks for who will be the top dog at the end of the year. Spears and Chizik were in agreement, both picking Swift.

However, Chizik added that it wouldn’t be smart to sleep on Rountree, adding that new QB Kelly Bryant adds an interesting wrinkle to the Mizzou offense.

McElroy, on the other hand, went with Auburn’s Boobee Whitlow. He said he’s excited for the potential of Auburn’s offense with Gus Malzahn calling plays again.

Who will end up rushing for the most yards? We’ll find out starting next month.
