There has been quite a bit of shakeup in terms of anchor movement at ESPN lately. What started with Chris Berman’s retirement has caused a domino effect that has reached all the way down to one of ESPN’s newest ventures, the SEC Network.

After Samantha Ponder was elevated to NFL coverage to help replace Berman, Maria Taylor was promoted to fill in here former role with ESPN College GameDay. With Taylor leaving a void on the SEC Network’s version of GameDay, titled SEC Nation, the promotion of SEC Network veteran Laura Rutledge made all the sense in the world.

Rutledge has been covering the SEC for ESPN/SEC Network since 2014. Rutledge has worked in numerous roles for SEC Network including sideline reporter, studio host and is a frequent in-studio guest with Paul Finebaum on his radio show. Before joining ESPN, Rutledge worked for CNN. She is a graduate of the University of Florida and currently calls Atlanta her home.
