SEC nominated for Sports League of the Year by Sports Business Awards
The Southeastern Conference has another achievement to claim, it’s been nominated as one of the best sports leagues of the year.
Of the six sports leagues nominated as the best of the year by the Sports Business Awards, the SEC is the only collegiate league honored this year. Its competition for the award is the LPGA, MLB, MLS, NBA, and the NHL. The nominees were announced Monday by the Sports Business Awards.
It didn’t take long for word to spread, as SEC commissioner Greg Sankey reacted to the news by issuing the following tweet:
In the category “Sports League of the Year” there is one finalist that is a college athletic conference, the @SEC. We have enjoyed a remarkable 12 months and are honored to be considered along with our colleagues from the @NHL @MLB @MLS @NBA and @LPGA #ItJustMeansMore https://t.co/tdtREBrnkI
