SEC recruiting superlatives: Tallest, shortest, heaviest, lightest entering SEC in 2017

There will be no shortage of massive offensive tackles coming through SEC programs over the next few seasons.
In the 2017 recruiting class, 10 of the conference’s 14 teams recruited a tackle at least 6-foot-7 or taller. The biggest player in any team’s recruiting class was Arkansas commit Dalton Wagner, who stands a physically imposing 6-foot-9 and weighs 312 pounds.
However, Wagner wasn’t the heaviest player recruited by an SEC school — not even close, in fact. That honor goes to LSU DT commit Tyler Shelvin, who weighs in at a whopping 376 pounds.
Every SEC team with the exception of Vanderbilt (whose heaviest player was only 292 pounds), had at least one commit weighing at least 300 pounds.
On the other end of the spectrum were some more normal-sized human beings, like LSU RB commit Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who stands a more reasonable 5-7 — the shortest recruit in the 2017 class — and Mizzou WR/RB commit O’Shae Clark, who weighs in at only 150 pounds.
However, Edwards-Helaire and Clark are sure to benefit, as will the other SEC running backs and quarterbacks, from playing behind the aforementioned behemoths along the offensive line.
With that, let’s take a quick look at each SEC squad’s tallest, heaviest, shortest and lightest 2017 commits (heights and weights courtesy of 247Sports):
