The SEC’s top players from another exciting and chaotic week were named on Monday, as Week 8 came and went with a blur led by the conference’s Players of the Week.

Headlining the list was Tennessee running back Dylan Sampson, who piled up 139 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns in the Volunteers’ 24-17 victory over Alabama and was named Offensive Player of the Week. Tennessee fans once again rushed the field at Neyland Stadium after another conquest of the Crimson Tide, as they did 2 years ago, and they have Sampson to thank for a lot of that.

Meanwhile, there were Co-Defensive Players of the Week this time around, as Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker and South Carolina defensive back Nick Emmanwori took the honors. Walker had 8 tackles, all of them solo, 3 sacks and 3 tackles-for-loss in the Bulldogs’ 30-15 takedown of then-top-ranked Texas on Saturday night.

Emmanwori had 11 tackles, 7 solo, 1 tackle-for-loss and a 65-yard interception return for a touchdown that capped a dominant 1st-quarter flurry in Saturday’s 35-9 victory at Oklahoma. He finished with 2 interceptions on Saturday.

LSU kicker Damian Ramos was named Special Teams Player of the Week after drilling all 4 of his field-goal attempts and both extra points in a 34-10 victory at Arkansas.

LSU’s Emery Jones and Tennessee’s Cooper Mays were named Offensive Linemen of the Week after they spearheaded big victories for the Tigers and Volunteers, respectively.

South Carolina’s Tonka Hemingway and Georgia’s Mykel Williams were recognized as Defensive Linemen of the Week. Hemingway had 2 solo tackles, 1 sack and 1 tackle-for-loss in that victory at Oklahoma, and Williams had 3 solo tackles, 2 sacks and 2 tackles-for-loss in the big win at Texas.

Finally, Florida running back Jadan Baugh took Freshman of the Week honors with 106 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns in a 48-20 victory over Kentucky.
