SEC schools provide 3 of NFL.com's top-5 NFL rookie classes
As the NFL regular season winds down, it’s time to start discussing Rookie of the Year candidates and assessing the 2016 rookie class as a whole.
When NFL.com broke down the top rookies, it ranked the top-five talent-producing colleges. Three SEC schools made the cut.
Florida, Mississippi State and Georgia joined No. 1 Ohio State and Notre Dame on the list, which was ordered as follows:
- Ohio State
- Florida
- Mississippi State
- Notre Dame
- Georgia
Florida’s rookie class is led by Tampa Bay CB Vernon Hargreaves III and Atlanta S Keanu Neal.
Mississippi State’s is obviously led by Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott, but has also received significant contributions from Kansas City DT Chris Jones.
Meanwhile, New England WR Malcolm Mitchell, Chicago LB Leonard Floyd and New York Jets LB Jordan Jenkins headline Georgia’s rookie class.
