The Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners are going to join the SEC eventually. Now, it’s just a matter of when the 2 schools can leave the Big 12 to head to their new conference.

That has left the Big 12 adrift, with its future heavily in question. Meanwhile, the other 3 Power 5 conferences (the Big Ten, ACC and Pac-12) are reportedly moving toward an alliance.

Thus, the Big 12 finds itself in a bit of a “Cast Away” situation, lamenting the loss of its 2 biggest programs. Below, you can see how the folks at SEC Shorts had some fun with that, parodying the famous “Wilson!” scene from the iconic Tom Hanks movie:

What will the Big 12 do next? Well, it needs to stop worrying about the Longhorns and Sooners and start to think about what its other 8 schools will do.

Meanwhile, the other Power 5 conferences are passing the Big 12 by like ships in the night.
