The SEC Softball Tournament is in its third day. Four games were set to be played in Auburn, but Mother Nature had other plans.

Due to weather delays on The Plains, just two games will be played Thursday. The other two games have been moved to Friday.

No. 1-seed Tennessee and 8-seed LSU were scheduled to play at 11 a.m. ET. The game did not get underway due to a weather delay. First pitch is now scheduled for 6:02 p.m. ET. UT enjoyed a double-bye, while LSU needed 14 innings to advance to the quarterfinals.

Arkansas-Mizzou will now be the final game of Thursday’s action. The 4-seed Razorbacks and 5-seed Tigers will begin 35 minutes after the completion of Tennessee-LSU. Arkansas has enjoyed a double-bye as a top-4 seed, while Mizzou defeated 13-seed Ole Miss 3-1 to advance.

No. 2-seed Florida and 7-seed Georgia were supposed to be the third quarterfinal game on Thursday’s slate. UF and UGA will now face off at 10 a.m.

The last quarterfinal between 3-seed Texas A&M and 11-seed South Carolina will also be played Friday, beginning 35 minutes after the completion of the UF-UGA game.

Georgia and South Carolina presumably welcome the extra rest afforded by Thursday’s weather delays.

Hours after LSU and Alabama went 14 innings, Georgia and Auburn matched that. The game did not end until about 10:30 p.m. ET when Sarah Gordon hit a walk-off homer.

South Carolina also had a late night, playing in the game after UGA-AU. It was after 1 a.m. ET when the Gamecocks completed an 8-4 upset win over Mississippi State.

While both teams will likely take advantage of what rest they can get during a tournament, Friday’s quarterfinal winners are looking at playing two games. The SEC states that tournament semifinals will be played as scheduled Friday. The first semifinal is set for 4 p.m. ET Friday.
