We tend to argue that the SEC has the best players in the country.

And with good players come impressive stats.

Many of the SEC stat leaders are moving on to bigger and better things next year, but others will be returning.

Here’s a look at the SEC stat leaders that should be back in 2016:

PASSING

Chad Kelly: There’s a chance that Kelly leaves for the NFL Draft, but it’s also likely he stays in Oxford for his senior year. The Rebels may be on the cusp of something special, which could help sway Kelly. He finished the 2015 season atop the SEC with 3,740 passing yards. If he stays another year, Ole Miss should be dangerous.

Joshua Dobbs: Dobbs ranks seventh in the SEC in most statistical categories, but everyone in front of him is transferring, leaving or likely headed to the NFL. He put up 2,125 yards this year for Tennessee, which isn’t bad. Dobbs should be primed for a breakout season next year.

RUSHING

Leonard Fournette: There is speculation that the LSU star would sit out his junior season to avoid a devastating injury that would hurt his draft value. While this makes sense, it doesn’t seem likely that he will take that route. Fournette appears to be a team-oriented guy so we should see him in 2o16.

Jalen Hurd: He has a chance to be the second-best back in the conference next year behind Fournette. This season, the Tennessee sophomore was overshadowed by Derrick Henry and Fournette, but he still had solid numbers with 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns.

RECEIVING

Christian Kirk: The top three statistical leaders (Laquon Treadwell, Pharoh Cooper and Fred Ross) are going to the NFL. The Texas A&M freshman ranks fourth with 925 yards receiving on the year as a freshman.

Calvin Ridley: The Alabama freshman attracted attention in 2015 with 893 yards and five TDs. Ridley has the potential to be the best receiver in college football in 2016.

SACKS

Myles Garrett: The Texas A&M star led the SEC in sacks this year with 12 and will return for his junior season. Garrett is a menace on the Aggies defensive line and should lead the pack again next year.

Tim Williams: A name that hasn’t been linked with many NFL discussions, he ranked third in the SEC with 10 sacks for Alabama.
