SEC vs. ACC heading into Week 9
And then there was one. One each, that is. Clemson and LSU are the only unbeaten teams left in the ACC and the SEC.
But here is how the two conferences stack up against one another according to the SDS power rankings.
PLAYOFF CONTENDERS
LSU and Clemson are in the respective driver’s seats, but each still have tests to come.
- LSU 7-0
- Alabama 7-1
- Clemson 7-0
- Florida 6-1

CHALLENGERS

NO ONE WANTS TO PLAY
Mississippi State is the team that tops this list.
13. Mississippi State 6-2
14. North Carolina State 5-2
15. Tennessee 3-4
16. Arkansas 3-4
ON THE UPSWING

17. Georgia Tech 3-5
18. Auburn 4-3
THE REST
Yeah, some folks have to get the participation trophy.
19. Louisville 3-4
20. Syracuse 3-4
21. South Carolina 3-4
22. Wake Forest 3-5
23. Virginia Tech 3-5
24. Virginia 2-5
25. Boston College 3-5
26. Vanderbilt 3-4
27. Missouri 4-4
AND A CATEGORY OF ITS OWN, FOR MASSIVE INEPTNESS
28. Miami 4-3
Auburn beats Kentucky at home. Has same winning record in, arguably, the harder division. Mississippi State beats Auburn with probably the second best QB in the conference right now and is ranked 6-2 in, arguably, the harder division. Arkansas beats Auburn with one of the top 5 RBs in the conference. Auburn, Arky and MSU all ranked below Kentucky. Illogical.
Georgia gets slammed by Alabama, loses to Tennessee, barely beats Mizzou (who just lost to Vandy) and has no reputable win this season so far. Gets ranked above Mississippi State and Texas A&M whose only losses are to top 25 teams. Illogical.
You might want to rethink these “power” rankings.
Uve got a point relative to UGA and Miss State. My question is if you have Dak as the “second best QB in the conf” WHO is number one?
Chad Kelly. He’s statistically better.
U know ur conf is weak when half the tms are listed under a heading of “the rest”…..
This has to be an oversight. No one in their right mind would ever place Kentucky ahead of Mississippi State less than a week after State thumped UK. Or for that matter consider Kentucky a “Challenger”.
If this is a serious ranking, you need see someone ASAP.
