It’s bowl season, and it seems like there are kickoffs happening all day, every day. No one wants to waste their time watching a boring game, though, so we ranked the five games that SEC teams are playing in the first few days of 2015 based on entertainment value. These rankings are subjective, but factor in  how exciting and how close the games will be. Games are ranked on a 1-5 Georgia Dome scale (the site of the SEC Championship Game), with 5 being the most watchable game and 1 being the least. Note: all rankings are from the College Football Playoff committee.

5 GEORGIA DOMES

– No. 1 Alabama vs. No. 4 Ohio State (Jan. 1, 8 p.m. ET, ESPN): It’s the College Football Playoff; if you’re a fan of the sport, you’ll be tuning in. With Alabama’s efficient offensive attack and Ohio State’s downfield throwing ability, this has shootout potential. Even if it ends up being a blowout — Alabama is a heavy favorite — the first set of playoff semifinals is well worth a watch.

4 GEORGIA DOMES

– No. 19 Auburn vs. No. 18 Wisconsin (Jan. 1, 12 p.m. ET, ESPN 2): Both teams come in with a chip on their shoulders; Auburn let a lead slip away against Alabama in the Iron Bowl, while Wisconsin got waxed in the Big Ten title game. There should be plenty of running, with Nick Marshall and Cameron Artis-Payne squaring off against Doak Walker finalist Melvin Gordon, who has rushed for more than 2,300 yards already this year.

– No. 16 Missouri vs. No. 25 Minnesota (Jan. 1, 1 p.m. ET, ABC): Mizzou is always fighting for respect, and they get a chance to earn some back against a Big Ten opponent after losing to Indiana earlier this year. The Gophers present a tough matchup for the Tigers’ fearsome pass rush, and Maty Mauk’s adventures generally make for an interesting time.

3 GEORGIA DOMES

– Florida vs. East Carolina (Jan. 3, 12 p.m., ESPN): Florida may be the only SEC team playing a non-Power Five school, but they get a fun opponent. The Pirates play an Air Raid offense and have one of the most prolific quarterbacks in the country in Shane Carden.

2 GEORGIA DOMES

– Tennessee vs. Iowa (Jan. 2, 3:20 p.m. ET, ESPN 2): Tennessee finished out its 2014 slate as a program back on the rise, with Joshua Dobbs lighting it up. Iowa ended its regular season heading in the opposite direction, but that should be enjoyable for Tennessee fans, as Iowa had some poor defensive performances late in the year.
