Another week is in the books in the SEC, and, as always, one man’s glory is another man’s goat.

Here’s a look at some of the not-so-finer moments from Week 8 in the SEC.

5. Prevent Intervention

There’s prevent defense and then there’s whatever the Arkansas Razorbacks were employing late in fourth quarter of their Week 8 matchup with Auburn. The Hogs left Tiger wide receiver Ricardo Louis about as wide open as can be with 22 seconds remaining and Auburn trailing by three points. The lapse proved costly, as the Tigers went on to tie the game and force (four) overtimes.

4. Dropped Call To Glory

Minkah Fitzpatrick returned two interceptions for touchdowns in Week 7 against Texas A&M. In Week 8 against Tennessee, however, the Alabama STAR linebacker’s hands weren’t as cooperative — dropping a Josh Dobbs pass that he likely could have taken to the house. Fitzpatrick is only a freshman, meaning he has plenty of chances to atone. Expect to see the Old Bridge, N.J., native back in the end zone sooner, rather than later.

3. Rocky Flop

OK, hitting a 43-yard field goal isn’t the easiest thing to do in sports. But Aaron Medley’s kicking woes continue to plague Tennessee. The sophomore badly shanked this kick and is now 9-17 on the season, including 3-5 between 20-29 yards. In a tight game against a team like Alabama, you can’t afford to leave points on the field the way Tennessee’s special teams has this season.

2. Stone Hands

Auburn might want to consider using new gloves. The Tigers receivers dropped seven Sean White passes in Week 8 against Arkansas, while their defensive backs failed to procure two interceptions they should have picked. Ricardo Louis was the worst offender, dropping three passes — including one that would have potentially sent the game into a fifth overtime.

1. Targeting Bad Behavior

Football is a game of trends. But not all trends are good ones. Every week in the SEC we see a defensive player flagged and ejected for targeting. Week 8 was no different. Riley Garner is going to have the best seat in the house when Texas A&M plays host to South Carolina in Week 9. The freshman was ejected late in the Aggies contest against Ole Miss after leveling Rebels wideout Markell Pack with his helmet. The move was a cheap, frustration penalty and will cost the linebacker a first half suspension against the Gamecocks. Garner tallied one tackle before being ejected.
