With plenty of action every Saturday, there are always going to be of highlight reel plays. Of course, there are also those plays that are better off forgotten. Here at Saturday Down South, we don’t forget. Let’s run down the worst of the week that was.

3. Arkansas’ Dan Skipper negates two huge plays:

Skipper is a very large human being, listed at 6-foot-10 and 326 pounds. Being that large, he tends to stand out, especially when he’s doing something wrong. That was the case on Saturday against Texas A&M, when flags against Skipper negated two huge plays; one a 50-plus yard run down to 1-yard line, the other a touchdown. Subtlety is an art, and apparently not one that’s easy to master when you’re the biggest man on the field.

2. The third quarter of Kentucky-Vanderbilt:

Specifically, a 2-minute stretch that featured not one, not two but three turnovers. These are probably the bottom of the barrel in the SEC, but that doesn’t mean a game between them should like like a middle school tilt.

1. Hugh Freeze gets penalized for arguing a call that he was right about:

Mississippi’s coach unloaded on the officials when they ruled a dropped screen pass was a fumble, recovered by Memphis, despite the ball being thrown from the shotgun to the line of scrimmage. For his troubles, Freeze earned himself a 15-yard penalty. Even when officials overturned the call, the penalty on the coaching staff stood. Not the finest moment for the officials or coaches.
