Saturday was a wild one in college basketball, and it started from the opening tipoff of the day’s action.

One of the first games of the day featured No. 3 Kansas at No. 1 Baylor, where the Bears entered with a 23-game winning streak. The Jayhawks snapped that streak, winning in Waco 64-61.

The day’s craziness was just getting started, though. In late Saturday action, No. 2 Gonzaga lost in Provo to No. 23 BYU 91-78. And, in San Diego, No. 4 San Diego State lost for the first time all year, coming up just short in a 66-63 loss to UNLV.

No other top teams lost on Saturday, and those squads all had a bit of room for error, so none will fall out of contention for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

As for how this impacts the SEC? No. 10 Kentucky took care of business against Florida on Saturday night, so the Wildcats may move up a spot or 2 in this week’s AP Poll.
