Good news for college football fanatics, the schedule for the opening weekend of the 2020 season continues to grow.

Following in the footsteps of programs like Oklahoma and Kansas, SMU and Texas State have agreed to push their season opener up a week in order to start the 2020 season on Saturday, Aug. 29.

Texas State made the announcement official on Monday.

Now with this in-state matchup being added to the Week 0 slate, we now have six games in total that are scheduled to take place on Saturday, Aug. 29.

Here are the matchup currently scheduled to be played during Week 0 — which includes Bobby Petrino’s first game as Missouri State’s head coach:

  • Missouri State at Oklahoma
  • Southern Illinois at Kansas
  • Marshall at East Carolina
  • Idaho State at New Mexico
  • UC Davis at Nevada
  • SMU at Texas State
