2018 DB prospect Asante Samuel Jr. knows a thing or two about playing the defensive back position.

His father — Asante Sr. — played 11 years in the NFL. He was a four-time Pro Bowler, and a two-time World Champion with the New England Patriots.

The younger Samuel is a talented player in his own right. Regarded as a 4-star prospect, the Florida native has offers from all across the country.

Taking to Twitter, Samuel has narrowed his focus down to five schools: Alabama, LSU, Florida State, Miami, and Ohio State.

The 5-foot-9 corner will make his decision in the summer. On Feb. 28, Samuel Jr. named Florida State as his favorite. With that said, there’s still plenty of time for any of his other finalists to make a move within his recruitment.

Speaking with Gridiron Now, Samuel Jr. had this to say about his recruitment:

“Definitely playing time and am I comfortable with the coaches, the facilities and with the campus. I’m a dog and I know how to play the ball. I also know how to make a team better by pushing the guys. It’s just whatever the best decision is for me, then that’s where I’ll go.”
