If you didn’t stay up to watch the Louisiana Tech vs. Southern Miss game Saturday night, you missed not only the best game of the day, you missed maybe the best ending of the season thus far.

Southern Miss jumped out to a 27-10 lead in the third quarter but Louisiana Tech came storming back as the Bulldogs outplayed the Eagles in the second half and managed to get within striking distance in the closing seconds of the game.

The game eventually came down to a fourth and goal play.

Louisiana Tech QB Luke Anthony attempted to hit his receiver, Griffin Hebert, in the back of the end zone but the refs ruled the attempted catch came out of bounds, ending Tech’s comeback attempt with just 14 seconds remaining in the game.

However, thanks to a replay review, it was determined that Hebert managed to catch the ball and get one foot down in the end zone on the play.

Tech went up 31-30 following a successful extra point by Jacob Barnes to give the Bulldogs their first win of the season.
