Neutral site games are a lot of fun for many reasons. For example, the first official game of the 2016 season pairs Cal and Hawai’i in Australia.
That, my friends, is awesome.
Our friends over at Sporting News ranked the top neutral site games that the upcoming season has to offer.
These rankings are more about the site and less about the game being played there. We didn’t count bowl games, otherwise the Rose Bowl — college football’s best venue — would be No. 1. It’s still the best.
Here they are:
13. Colorado vs. Colorado State — Sports Authority Field at Mile High (Denver)
12. Notre Dame vs. Army — Alamodome (San Antonio, Texas)
11. Ole Miss vs. Florida State — Camping World Stadium (Orlando, Fla.)
10. Army vs. Navy — M&T Bank Stadium (Baltimore)
9. Florida vs. Georgia — EverBank Field (Jacksonville, Fla.)
8. Houston vs. Oklahoma — NRG Stadium (Houston)
7. Georgia Tech vs. Boston College — Aviva Stadium (Dublin, Ireland)
6. Georgia vs. North Carolina — Georgia Dome (Atlanta)
5. California vs. Hawai’i — ANZ Stadium (Sydney, Australia)
4. Oklahoma vs. Texas — Cotton Bowl (Dallas)
3. Alabama vs. USC — AT&T Stadium (Arlington, Texas)
2. Wisconsin vs. LSU — Lambeau Field (Green Bay, Wisc.)
1. Tennessee vs. Virginia Tech — Bristol Motor Speeway (Bristol, Tenn.)
