Sportsbook updates 2020 national championship odds after SEC announces new games
Even with a 10-game conference-only schedule, the SEC still has 4 of the top 6 contenders to win the 2020 national championship according to one sportsbook.
The latest online odds at FanDuel have Clemson the betting favorite to win the 2020 title with +250 odds. Ohio State is right behind with odds of +280. SEC teams occupy the next 4 spots:
- Alabama +600
- Georgia +1000
- Florida +1800
- LSU +1800
Those four teams received favorable draws in Friday’s announcement. Of the four, only Florida added a ranked opponent to its schedule. Dan Mullen’s Gators will travel to College Station to take on a Texas A&M squad ranked No. 13 in the preseason Coaches Poll. The run of SEC is broken up by Texas (+2000) and Notre Dame (+2500) before Texas A&M checks in at +3000, the same odds offered to Oklahoma and Penn State.
While many fans are understandably focusing on the new opponents, the 2020 SEC schedule already included many marquee matchups among CFP contenders including Alabama-Georgia, Alabama-LSU, Florida-Georgia and LSU-Florida.
For those looking to bet on a longshot, here are some of the other odds FanDuel is offering on SEC teams:
- Auburn +5000
- Ole Miss +15000
- South Carolina +20000
- Tennessee +20000
- Mississippi State +2300
- Missouri +23000
- Kentucky +40000
- Arkansas +50000
- Vanderbilt +50000
