Tua Tagovailoa and Nick Fitzgerald will both face eight SEC teams, including five of the same SEC West defenses. They can likely relate to a lot of the same things as starting quarterbacks in the SEC, but there’s one where they cannot: what it’s like to have their passes dropped.

CFB Film Room recently shared its findings on which SEC quarterbacks are experiencing the most dropped passes. They found that Fitzgerald is the conference quarterback experiencing the most drops (16.4 percent) while Tagovailoa is experiencing the opposite (4.4 percent).

Drop obviously means the ball was catchable, but there are certainly degrees of catch-ability. Some of these might be instances of quarterbacks throwing too hard in short distances, but some cases might be examples of poor coaching or just instances of bad hands. Players, coaches and fans certainly all have their own opinions.
