Steve Spurrier may have something in common with Alabama stars Bryce Young and DeVonta Smith when it comes to winning the Heisman Trophy. But when it comes to technology, from an electric vehicle, to a landline phone, there’s a considerable generation gap.

“Coach, just plug it in,” Young tells Spurrier about the car charger.

Spurrier replied, “Gee, how about that.”

Then when a phone rang in the house, Spurrier said, “Guys, just pick it up.”

When Smith did, he picked up the entire phone, and said, “I don’t like this thing.”

This is one of 10 spots for Nissan, and other Heisman winners include Kyler Murray, Desmond Howard, Barry Sanders, Baker Mayfield, Carson Palmer, Robert Griffin III, Charlie Ward and Derrick Henry.

“The writing behind these spots continues to naturally showcase each player’s unique comedic talents, providing a glimpse into a side of their personalities that can be well hidden when they are on the playing field,” Allyson Witherspoon, VP and CMO at Nissan U.S told Muse by Clio. “The ‘Heisman House’ is important for Nissan as a brand because it engages with consumers from all walks of life around a common passion—college football,” says Witherspoon. “Our fans feel like they are a part of this moment. There is excitement in the air at the start of the college football season, and we are thrilled that Nissan can be a part of it all.”
